Hi everyone! My name is Teri and I'm doing the P90X challenge!
I've never written a blog before so this is a new experience for me. I guess you can compare it to writing in a journal, which I used to do as a teen, except instead of the words hiding in a book under my bed I'm sharing them with (let's be honest, probably no one) the world.
Anyways, the purpose of this blog is to share my experiences as I (hopefully) complete the P90X challenge. I'm going to start with my reasoning for taking on this 90 day challenge. Firstly, if you saw me you would wonder why I'm doing this. I'm 5'1 and weigh 111 pounds, which is a respectable weight for my height. However, I recently turned 30 and feel that all those years of last night eating, chips for dinner, soda drinking and so on are catching up on me. My once firm stomach, thighs and arms now jiggle. I really can't deal with the jiggling...EVERYTHING jiggles!* So, when I'm told you don't need to lose weight, I just want to start jiggling my arms but instead I reply 'All of my jeans are too tight, and I don't want to buy new ones', which is true. It's also true that we need to be happy with ourselves, whatever shape or size and I will be happy when I fit back into my favourite pair of J brand jeans. Secondly, completing this challenge, for me, is not just about changing my body, it's also about staying healthy and creating good eating habits, increasing my energy levels and self confidence.
So, I'm going to start the challenge on Tuesday and throughout the challenge I will share with you what exercises I'm doing, when I'm doing it, how it feels and what I'm eating that day. I will try not to lie ;)
Here is some honesty for you. I'm having my last, carb-filled lunch today, consisting of chili, mac and cheese and a salad (with Ranch dress). Oh...and a coke zero. So bad, yet so good!
Ok...let's do this...
* I apologize if any of my comments offend anyone. This is a judgement on myself and not of other :)
